[There's a lot of things wrong with what's going on right now. One; she's in some new place that doesn't look like her prison cell. Two; she's got some annoying wings on her back that are bothering her beyond relief, and not to mention the pain that they're bringing her. Wouldn't they have someone ready to give out painkillers at an instant? Or something to at least null the pain. Whatever it is, she needs to find out what in the hell is going on. And this...what is it- a journal? Yeah, she figures she'll go ahead and use it for the time being.

But how to go about this...there's a good chance if she's...well, herself, people won't actually listen to her, and would probably go on their way. She doesn't want to have to resort to this, but she's going to have to in order to garner some attention. So there's a sharp inhale of breath (well, partly due to the wings but) as she begins to speak.]

U-Um...excuse me, I have a few questions... [So far so good, she's playing it off with her rather sweet, innocent voice so far.] Is there a reason we have these wings on our backs...? I don't really like it much, and it's really bothering me. [There's another reason why she doesn't like them in the first place- she feels like they're mocking her with that pink color. Jeez.] A-And what is this place...? It's not home...did someone kidnap me? If so, then that's a really mean prank!

I'm also a little bit lost...um, if anyone could help out, I'd be really grateful for your cause! O-of course, that's all up to you whether you want to help me out or not...I'm not going to force you too, that's just a little too cruel... [She'd like it to be as cruel as possible, but hey. New place? She'll screw with people some other time, but right now, it doesn't seem right.]

...oh, I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself too...my name is Minatsuki Takami, it's...it's a pleasure to meet all of you...! Ow...these wings really hurt... [Her voice was a little pained as she was speaking, but she's no stranger to pain in the first place. So she's just trying to keep up this facade through all of it.]

Thank you for your time...um...I...I guess I'll...try and get used to the surroundings for now...

[And with a small sigh, she turns off the voice, a small curse under her breath.]

[SHU NO DON'T ASK THAT QUESTION she definitely wasn't prepared for something along those lines. Her face shifts into her usual mean spirited one, before she lets out a tiny gasp and shifts it back to her cutesy one.]

My home is...nice. It's really nice, I'm surrounded by flowers all the time, and I live with my brother...it's peaceful, I do like it... [Okay, half of that was a lie, the other half is fairly true.]

But, um...is this place going to be my new home for the time being...? I...I don't know if I can adjust to that...

[Shu just figures that Minatsuki's distressed and concludes that's why she made the expression. She did say she was in pain.]

You really like flowers? [Maybe he should get her one. He doesn't even know a thing about flowers, but if it's that special to her then perhaps it'll help Minatsuki forget that she's in pain? Where is Shiemi when you need her? She loves gardening and she'd know which flowers look nice and make people relax.]

I'll go get you one and I'm sorry about your brother. The least I can do is make you feel more at home.

I do...they were my friends back home...they're really delicate, you know that? One touch is all it might take to just knock one over... [Well, it's true. She doesn't want to see her precious babies ever knocked over, nor would she like to see them rot without- wait shit who was going to take care of them. She can't trust Yoh, though, he's not reliable at all.

Whatever, she'll worry about that sort of thing later. Right now, though, she's pretty surprised that Shu is already getting a flower for her sake.]

Y-You don't have to do that for me...! I...I can try and make this place feel like home as it is...you're too kind for doing that for me...

You must have taken good care of your flowers. [He does feel bad for Minatsuki. His first experience in Luceti wasn't that great. The last thing Shu wants Minatsuki to do is find all the information herself, like she did. ]

No, it's nothing. Don't worry about it. Do you want me to come find you? I can show you around.

[Well well, she's getting a tour too? Internally she's laughing at how much of a white knight hero this guy is being, but she's going to keep that underneath the cutesy smile she's putting on right now.]

I'd really like that...um, I'd be really scared by myself, so having someone else show me around is a little bit better, I think.

[After stabbing Gai so brutally, Shu doesn't exactly trust himself to get near people without hurting them. He's trying to put it past himself so he can help this new feather. She needs help more than he does. Shu takes in a deep breath and tries to look calm.]

Okay. Do you know where you are? Try telling me what you see around you and stay calm. I'll help you as much as I can. [And he's putting up his leader front here. Shu might be going through something difficult at the moment, but he believes that a good leader wouldn't abandon those who need help.]

[Oh, right, she doesn't even know where she is. She's looking around to get a good feel of where in the world she is. All she sees is trees and a river...hrm, maybe there's something in the distance...ah!]

I'm standing next to what looks like a lake...and I see a couple of buildings from a little ways away...and a little house by the lake as well... [She has no clue how in the world she ended up here but she's really cold and she's already coughing.]

I...I can walk towards the buildings already...

Take your time, I'll come meet you. [Shu sees Minatsuki coughing because of how cold it is outside. He looks like he's about to reach out to her and instead he gets a different idea. Shu will just bring her some blankets or something. Is a blanket even enough to keep her warm? Maybe she could use some better clothing.

Shu decides to stop by one of the local stores so he can get Minatsuki a warm dress. Later, he finds her and he's holding a dress decorated in flowers and it looks fitting for the weather.]

Are you Miss Minatsuki? [Shu calls out to the other girl, not sure if that's really her or not. They've only spoken once over the Journals before so he has to confirm.]

[Oh, she didn't expect him to come that fast, it catches her a bit off guard. But like before, she's coughing again. Except it's really only an act that she's putting up in the meantime. Still, she greets Shu with a small smile.]

Yes, that would be me...it's a pleasure to meet y- [Waitaminute. She stops her speech once her eyes fall upon that dress that he's carrying, her eyes widening as a nervous laugh comes out of her.]

U-Um, e-excuse me, why are you carrying that...?

[He bows down out of pure politeness.]

I saw you and I thought that you're going through a hard time. I...uh...[Shit, when Minatsuki puts him on the spot he gets all nervous and awkward. So much for trying to be the good guy here.]

I didn't want you to get sick wearing that so, um here. [He hands the big dress to her.]

[...it's for her? For a moment, she's staring at the dress a little bit in disbelief. It's...it's way too frilly for someone like her...!? Her mouth is opening and closing like a goldfish, eyes still wide as ever. Sure, it looks like she's going to squeal, but instead...]

WH-WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHIT!?

[It's a total 180 from how she was previously- but she still can't believe that Shu gave her something as cutesy as this. If it isn't obvious, her face is pretty disgruntled by now, herself quickly getting in Shu's face.]

You trying to toy with me here?! H-How the hell could you get someone a dress-hell, someone you don't even know?! You White Knight folks are...are...!

[Her eyes divert back to the dress, it's too damn cute, why the hell did he have to buy it?!]

This little shit isn't allowed to be this cute...I wish I could just rip it up...!

[That wasn't a reaction that Shu was expecting. He always thought that Minatsuki was kind and meek, although now she's proven him wrong. He's been shown many sides of people before so this isn't a first. Initially he looks shocked, but his expression quickly changes into an apologetic one.]

I'm not trying to toy with you. [While he may look apologetic for pissing Minatsuki off, he isn't about to accept that way of talking. His voice is firm and demanding.]

Try thinking about it for a minute. You're out here in the cold and you don't really have much of a choice but to accept help from others. When I arrived here I was forced to endure so many things alone. I didn't want to make you go through what I did. Stranger or not, you deserve all the help you can get.

Call me whatever you like, I'm not changing my mind about this. [Even though Minatsuki's tone is harsh, Shu does sense that Minatsuki's attached to the dress even if she won't admit it. She just called it cute despite her language. He eases up a bit because of that.]

[Oh no, those are the sorts of speeches she hates most of all. But she hates the fact that his words ring true, even if she wants to deny the fact that she's cold, and that the dress is too cute for words.]

...feh. [She seems to be pouting after his explanation, her grip on the dress becoming a bit tighter.] Still, you could have come with something a little less extravagant than this. I mean, look at it for crying out loud! [She's practically shoving it into Shu's face.] You could have settled with something simpler! I don't care if you had to go through hardships alone- at least you made it through!

[Still more grumbling, as she pulls away from him to stare more at the dress. After a while, though, she gives up and puts it on quickly, turning around to face Shu. That angry look is still residing on her face.]

...c'mon, let's get moving. This is already embarrassing as it is...

Sorry, I saw something similar in my world and I thought girls liked that thing. [Only in Inori's music videos. Shu, she's an internet vocalist and those clothes are for PV's. This is not a normal dress! He's happy that Minatsuki has settled down. The angry expression doesn't have him convinced that she's truly mad.]

Was I mistaken? [He's really sorry if he is and he does take a look at that dress again. Nope. Shu's not seeing anything wrong with it.]

And you're right. I made it through and that's what matters. We have to keep going here, as well.

[He acknowledges Minatsuki's words and decides to show her around the village.]

Is there any place here that caught your eye? Where do you want to visit?

Some girls might not like extravagant stuff like this, you know! A little more subtlety would have been nice, what have you seen in your world that tipped you off to someone like me liking this?! [She does like it, actually. It's sad but she'll never admit to something like that.

Still, at his suggestion, she's already pressing a finger right up against his chest.]

I dunno, you tell me where we should start. You're the escort, you know, being a white knight to apparently any girl who'll cry and give you a sob story. Just take me someplace to eat and we'll be golden, got it?

[She's a little annoyed, but at least it's being suppressed by her still fussing over the dress she just put on.]

Inori wears these kinds of dresses and she looks nice in them. She's really popular in my world. [His tone sounds kind of sad. He misses Inori a lot and after finding out what happened about her in his world it's obvious that he's bothered by something.]

It's not a sob story. [He says that part firmly.]

What you gave me wasn't something you made up just so you could get help. I know you needed help. I could have brought you a blanket, but I wanted to show you just how important it is to accept help when it's given to you.

I dunno who this Inori chick is, but me and her have different styles of clothing. [See when she gets out of prison. But she's probably going to discover all sorts of things she can wear and oh boy the girly girl in her would shine brightly.

However, hearing his explanation is reminding her of a certain someone else that she used to know. With a few blinks on her part, her cheeks are puffing out as she reaches over to grab Shu by his shirt, pulling her closer.]

Look, it was all an act, got it? I only used you to get what I needed, and that's it. When help comes, I'll accept it on my own fucking terms, but right now, you're just a stranger to me, so don't go around saying shit like you know what's going on.

[She lets go of him, straightening out her dress.] And I'll say whatever the hell I want. Tch, why the hell are you so nice, anyways? Can't you see I'm being a little shit right now?

[Despite Minatsuki's action of her pulling on Shu's shirt he doesn't look afraid. He has nothing to be scared of because he knows Minatsuki's just doing this because she's frustrated about ending up in Luceti. He was just as angry when he first entered.]

You aren't the only one who's tried to use me before. [Gai and Segai both used him as a pawn. Gai even admitted that much.]

I'm acting this way because I have a better understanding of the situation than you do.

[He just glares at Minatsuki for half a second until she lets him down.]

Someone who has the ability to lie so effectively and use it to gain the advantage can't be a bad person.

[Sorry Minatsuki, he doesn't feel like swearing back by quoting you.]

You're willing to use any means necessary to survive. [Shu points this out because there was once a time where he was willing to hurt people so he could ensure his own survival.]

The way I see it, you're afraid because you don't understand anything so you lie and hurt others to put yourself on top. It's not going to work on me.

[Oooh boy. Something is swelling up inside of Minatsuki, but she's not sure what it is. Anger? Pain? Something about Shu's words are making her face grow more and more aggravated, to the point where she's practically red in the face. With one fell swoop, her hand is being raised up as if she's about to slap Shu across the face.]

Would you shut the fuck up!? How the hell are you going to decide how I feel, and how I act!? You don't know shit about me- no one does. So don't go around saying I'm afraid of this place.

[Her words are growing more and more malicious.] Why can't you fucking accept what I'm saying as the truth!? I'm a terrible person, and yet you're trying to tell me that I'm not?!

You're just some guy trying to make someone else feel better, aren't ya?! [And that sort of act pisses her off.]

I can care less about what's going to work on you or not; the fact of the matter is you don't understand who I am.

I'm not trying to decide how you feel. [Minatsuki keeps yelling and honestly that worries Shu. For a minute, he thinks about using his Void Genome to control the situation. However, Shu finally decides that he shouldn't use it. His Void Genome hurt Shiemi...it was hurting Gai and Elizabeth. Shu had every reason to not use it. If worse came to worse then he'd just allow her to punch him. That's what Shu thinks Gai would do in this scenario.

He can partially relate to Minatsuki whether he likes to admit it or not. His tough guy attitude now is mostly an act when the truth is he's a total wreck inside.]

Answer me this: why would you tell me you're using me? You'd be better off lying to me for as long as you can. Instead you stopped.

You're not terrible, Miss Minatsuki. I am. [Shu just sort of reaches out for Minatsuki and tries to get her to calm down. Is this what Gai did every time Shu lost control? He's starting to feel a little sympathetic towards Gai now.]

[Okay, for all of her yabbering, Shu seems to have caught her off guard. Why did she stop lying? Was it the dress that caught her off guard? She seems to be quiet for a moment, before her face seems to be receding back into her dress, herself pulling it over her nose as she looks away.]

Why? It's obvious why anyone would tell you the truth. It's no fun to be using some sorry sucker for as long as they're walking; hell, they deserve to know the truth sooner or later. I figured that my time would have been revealed sooner than later.

[But at that last part, she's already moving her leg to kick him in the shin.]

Oi, don't say that, you asswipe. You ain't terrible; you're far from it. You helped me, and that's not terrible. [...well, it is, but whatever.]

['They deserve to know the truth sooner or later' Minatsuki isn't the only one caught off guard. Part of the reason why Shu's putting himself down so much is because people hide the truth from him way too often.]

No...I. [Calm yourself, Shu.] My best friend's been lying to me for a long time now. He had his reasons. I just thought you were no different.

Wait...? You think I'm not terrible? [Suddenly he starts acting very shy. If Minatsuki's done lying to him then he's going to drop his act too. The next thing Minatsuki might notice is Shu lightly tugging onto her dress.]

[Huh. So this guys been used to lying for a while now. Not that it mattered much to her; he might have seen through her act sooner or later, so she's actually sort of glad she didn't have to go through this sort of shit.]

Everyone has their reasons for doing things, you know. You're no better, and I'm sure as hell not any better. I'll lie to get shit done my way, otherwise, others are pretty indispensable to me.

[She was going to say more, but Minatsuki stops her speech for her eyes to notice what Shu's doing. It causes her to stop whatever it is that she was doing for her to poke her head out of her dress, a sneer forming on her lips.]

The fuck do you think you're doing?

Can I stay with you for a while? [He looks anxious. Shu's seen some good in Minatsuki and he's drawn to it. He doesn't want to be alone and Minatsuki's not that bad in his opinion. She sort of reminds him of Yahiro.]

Please.

[He's practically begging now which totally contrasts how he was before: bold and in control. ]
